Where NW Roots Grow Deep

Sarah Rood, Owner.
They say you should embrace your roots - and ours are rooted deep in the northwest.
I spent a good deal of my childhood just outside of Burnley, Lancashire - enjoying the occasional trip to Blackpool, or a walk around Skipton Castle. But as a teenager I left northwest England and fell in love with a different northwest - Seattle, USA.
That's where I gained a bachelor's degree in public relations and a business marketing minor and started a 20 year marketing career that's covered everything from web design and SEO, to social media management and content creation, and overall campaign management with analytics.
It's also where I met Chris, who lived for everything northwest USA (especially the sports teams!).
Really, the two northwests have so much in common. They're both amazing destinations for hikes and walks, they're both known for rainy, grey days - and they both have some of the nicest people we've ever met.
So now we're back - settled in Ulverston, Cumbria with our two children and our husky, Shawn, and enjoying hikes through Grizedale and shows at The Coro. Now, about 35 years later, I'm taking my own children to Blackpool for a day out.
Chris has fully embraced life in England, but still gets overexcited when he sees sheep in a field (which is every day).
And together, we've started NW Collective - helping businesses and charitable organisations to grow their reach, engage with their customers, and tell their own story.
